Talking about guitar, this weekend, with my young friend Harley, and forgot to mention Ricky Nelson....this is his heartbeat dictating the beat of this song...and I love it, don't you?
music, thoughts, books, dreams, more
Just my world of dreams, music and thoughts. Author of two books, one a novel of Love stories set in Framingham, Mass, Secrets of the Heart the 2nd book an autobiography of growing up in Framingham, Mass. Small Town America, Framingham My generation was the first teenage generation, that was when the word was coined. Ours was the generation that started cruising through town and to the drive in theater and drive in restaurant. In our area, Ernie Kampersal, from Holliston, drove his bucking car through town, picking up girls. It rose in the air, like a stallion! We went to the soda shops and played the juke boxes. It was a different town, a different time, and it belonged to us!

Ricky Nelson- Garden Party (Lyrics)
Talking about guitar, this weekend, with my young friend Harley, and forgot to mention Ricky Nelson....this is his heartbeat dictating the beat of this song...and I love it, don't you?
Chords - Sh Boom (live)
the saxophone is really nice for this song... and now....the Crewcuts and cars...

How Sh Boom Originated
Music from the environment, interesting ....how they composed a fun song we enjoyed , it was up, it was exciting and we loved to dance to it.
Sarah Vaughan - A Hundred Years From Today
For my friend Lorraine, I found it and Sarah is great as usual...''
Here is Johnny Ray

Lee Wiley

It's doo wop, but ...guess what, I like the tempo and the softer sound of the voices....maybe it is a sound that someone can successfully handle with this song again today.... Freddy Cole could probably do this number... with his soft voice....

Della Reese - A Hundred Years from Today
Just cruising around, it was hard to find, there was Frank Sinatra, Joe Williams, Ethel Waters, Joni James....and this is the first one that caught my attention as the closest to the voice for this song....but then Della is fabulous
A Hundred Years From Today - Black Book Soundtrack [HD]
Need a great movie and can't think of one...this is wonderful, maybe you can find it on amazon prime.
A Hundred Years From Today ..... Maxine Sullivan 1986
Maxine still had a great voice, and has one of the best arrangements of this song...Want a hit song? There is something about this song, that dictates it a hit. but it is for your voice? I think it suits a Dean Martin male voice, or Mel Torme type voice. and a husky voice woman who can make it sultry, Julie London style... I know Rod Stewart could do it....
Lee Wiley - A Hundred Years from Today - 1934 interesting photos
I lovc this song, and was looking for different versions, when I came across this interesting group of childhood pictures. Hedy Lamarr was one of the greatest beauties, but not one of the most beautiful of the children, in my estimation

Louis Prima - Sing,Sing,Sing (With a Swing)
This is a great idea of what it was like....you can even see the garters that girls had to wear to hold up the nylons, before girdles, then the awful girdles move in....oh, awful....

Madeleine Peyroux - J'ai Deux Amours
Madeleine Peyroux is going to be a big, big hit.....if she keeps picking great songs...., I would love to hear her with K.D. Lang on a great song...lets see, what would be special...?
getting some fun out of life, madeleine peyroux
Wow! Where have I been, this is a great song, and I just heard it on Seriously Sinatra the other day..... I think that Madeleine Peyroux is fabulous...as an artist, don't you?
Manhattan Transfer Blue Champagne
Oh, such great music, they were the best, they picked great songs...that counts so much.
Laurel Massé - Scotch and Soda / Manhattan Transfer 1977
this was a big hit, back in the 40's , 50's, and reminds me of the Maridor,on Route 9 that lounge was the place to go for years....
Bert Kaempfert - A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square (1965)
another favorite, and I thought Bert kaempfert would be a treat....hardly anyone knows him today, but he was big...in the 50's, and this is typical of the 50's horn sound. It reminds me of a night at the Totem Pole....which was our dream date in those days!
Manhattan Transfer - On a little street in Singapore 1978
just feel like some great music tonight, imagine way back to 1978,,,,and it is great!~

Marty Robbins Singing 'Room Full Of Roses.'
A time to sit and say thank you to the Rose's in our lives, whether their names were Rose, or Karen, or Angie, Maggie, Theresa, Anita, Grace, Mary and I could go on....
Boots Randolph ~ So Rare
Earl Bostic swept me off my feet with the saxophone and it always remains one of my favorite instruments. Here is one of the great saxophone players of my day.
Blue Moon - Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart has some of the best arrangements, take this song for instance, it is just beautiful, and he is generous with his appreciation for those that accompany him, just love this guitar! Gorgeous presentation, Rod, we thank you....
Frequency, by Penny Pierce, a wonderful book for people that are always looking to learn, improve and grow....
This review is from: Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration (Paperback)
My inner self spoke to me, each time i went back to pick up where I left off. Why I asked, aren't we teaching this in the lower grades, so that children growing up in good or especially bad circumstances can understand that life is welcoming and loving and no matter the present circumstances, you are empowered to make it better. What an injustice we do ourselves to deprive our children of the knowledge that we are vibrating, as is everything around us.
The facts of vibration , the levels , the types of things that vibrations can do, are still so poorly understood. Just this week, people on facebook were incredulous that grains of salt can move with the vibrations of music. How would our world change if we took the lessons of science and started to reach down to elementary school with the magic of our reality. If we continue to focus on matter and ignore our electrical, vibrational essence, we teach children that matter is all that counts.
I personally think that this book is a "bible" of how to react to good and bad circumstances, how to approach our desires and their fulfillment, and how to be a better marriage partner, parent, and "boss". You can not just jump in and practice what Penny Pierce preaches, because you are a creature of habit, but each day you take a step in the direction you want to reach, as you would as you learned to walk, and talk.
From the start I felt that this book would be helpful to people who deal with the demons of addiction, split personality and other problems, since it is giving hope that a personal mantra, an understanding of why we have to face trials, sadness, failure, and falls. It holds out hope that there is something to reach for, for all of us, no matter how the cards are dealt at our birth.
Understanding how the past affects the future, how a Mom or Dad, can color the future of their child and how that child is reacting to the lessons learned at home, are all easily recognized.
This book is like a counselor that you can see when you want to, just by choosing your chapter and sinking into the lessons , by examining your own life, how you got where you are, and do you want to change it, or understand and improve it?
Carolyn Myss is another teacher, Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing was one of my favorite books. I have to say that Penny Pierce has gone beyond, by focusing on what everyone avoids (the real world of vibrations)is making it easy for us to do self improvement.
