I was watching book TV, just the other night, when I heard the author speak of her book on Truman. I plan to order it for my Kindle. Truman and Dewey ran a close race, Dad was a Republican, and voted for Dewey, he went to bed the night of the election saying that the election was over, Dewey had won! Everyone thought so that night, but in the morning, when we got our morning paper...In those days it was The Boston American, we heard Dad yell! Truman won!....no one could believe it...but it was confirmed on the radio and in The Framingham News, our hugh 3 foot wide paper that came in the late afternoon. It was a different town, a different time and it belonged to us!
