music, thoughts, books, dreams, more

Just my world of dreams, music and thoughts. Author of two books, one a novel of Love stories set in Framingham, Mass, Secrets of the Heart the 2nd book an autobiography of growing up in Framingham, Mass. Small Town America, Framingham My generation was the first teenage generation, that was when the word was coined. Ours was the generation that started cruising through town and to the drive in theater and drive in restaurant. In our area, Ernie Kampersal, from Holliston, drove his bucking car through town, picking up girls. It rose in the air, like a stallion! We went to the soda shops and played the juke boxes. It was a different town, a different time, and it belonged to us!

Julio Iglesias & Roberto Carlos - Solamente una vez

We have to go south of the border to find this, You Belong to My Heart, a song of he 1940's world I lived in, as Mom sang, and Dad played his accordion, in our music filled home.

Roberto Carlos - Adios

He is at home, with the song, the lyrics, beautiful!

1968 World Series - National Anthem by José Feliciano

I forgot about this!  Imaagine, we never accepted a different version of the song.  It ruined Jose's career people where so upset that the song was sung different than they expected!

Jose Feliciano My Sweet Lord

Love this song, and great by Jose!

Michael Jackson & Jose Feliciano - Billie Jean

Incredible!  Michael Jackson will be known as one of the greatest if not the best, in the whole world, what Jose does with his guitar, Michael does with his body and voice!  Breath taking performances!

Doing business the Mormon way - CBS News Video
Get to know the real Mitt Romney, he doesn't do things for publicity, and there is a lot to know about this real man.

Nancy Sinatra Who Will Buy

One of my favorite songs...years ago D'aldo Romano was trying to make it, I asked Ceasar to bring him to Ceasars Palace on Route 9.  He was terrific, but in the music business success does not come that easy, so he sang this song for those of us in the audience.  We loved it, and cheered his perfomance that night, but, he never made it big.

Walking Through That Door by Madison Rising

Another Madison Rising...very Patriotic!

The Star Spangled Banner: One Million Star Spangled Challenge

The Star Spangled Banner: One Million Star Spangled Challenge    WOW!   great imagination, great presentation!  Good for them....makes me proud that we can still show the world we have it!

My favorites (playlist)

There was a time when contracts would not let you appear or share your talent with another talent or competitor.  Think about it, as simple as thinking food courts....they are successful, with more than one competitor together.  Who compliments your voice, your style....and team up for a try...why not?

Jerry Vale - You're Breaking My Heart (1963)

Here is a better quality recording and a better chance to hear his voice and compare it!  We loved this song!

Jerry Vale - This Is My Song (1967)

A little comparison of voice...

Don Cherry - It isn't fair

we loved this song...notice the voices of the time, Jerry Vale, Don Cherry, Don Cornell, they sounded similar, but they all stood out...while Dean just sat back, not practicing , and knocking us all for a loop with his romantic voice...
It isn't fair....some people practice til they are blue...and others just have it from the moment they open their mouth...Isn't that true?

DON CHERRY (THE SINGER)- THINKING OF YOU

another major hit by Don
Cherry many years ago....romantic songs with a great voice, how can you lose?

Yes, we swooned for Billy Ecksteing too!

Billy Eckstine - Everything I Have Is Yours

Here is a two for one.  Mel Brooks, had some funny movies, watch the clips as you listen.

Dean Martin - Return To Me

Some voices are classic, and re creating a sound of a great entertainer is not the worst thing in the world.  If you have it, you have it...so why worry, if you sound like someone before you...go for it!

Edge : Conversations on the edge of human knowledge

Edge : Conversations on the edge of human knowledge

http://www.edge.org/ In reading ...The Third Culture, I could not help but think of a comparison...
Michelle Obama said in a recent speech to a Black Organization that the house she is now living in, Our White House, was built in part by Black slaves.
I am sure that she did not mean to be divisive, however, the use of the word slaves ...is a culture word....that causes divisiveness in todays society.
The Muslims carry a hatred from the Crusades, the Blacks carry a hatred from slavery....one forgets that in the history of the world you can find hatred in many places...indentured white slavery, the Romans enslaved the Greeks, the Muslims carried on a slave trade in Africa...and on and on...
The only point to make here is to avoid throwing fuel on the past hatreds, and try to overcome. look at the future with forgiving eyes.... by saying proudly in this case.,
Black people contributed in part to the construction of the White House, as did many other people of our nation at the time....
