music, thoughts, books, dreams, more
Just my world of dreams, music and thoughts. Author of two books, one a novel of Love stories set in Framingham, Mass, Secrets of the Heart the 2nd book an autobiography of growing up in Framingham, Mass. Small Town America, Framingham My generation was the first teenage generation, that was when the word was coined. Ours was the generation that started cruising through town and to the drive in theater and drive in restaurant. In our area, Ernie Kampersal, from Holliston, drove his bucking car through town, picking up girls. It rose in the air, like a stallion! We went to the soda shops and played the juke boxes. It was a different town, a different time, and it belonged to us!

The Casinos - Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye
This is a real love song from THE ERA OF MUSIC...when teens blasted onto the landscape with cars, records, drive in's and more..
the duprees - you belong to me
Sonarman, says it like it was....on a warship, this often was the closest you got to home. I had a brief encounter with that feeling when I was a young bride overseas. We went to the enlisted mens club and the songs, the Americans around us, brought me back to the States in a brief flash....and I was so homesick for the moment! Music makes miracles!
Jo Stafford - You Belong To Me (Original Remastered)
In the early 1950's we lived to this song. Do you know what I mean, the music surrounded us, it was such a major hit. When I write, I usually recall the songs that marked the time of my stories, they surrounded us. We rushed to the record stores, we kept the portable radios with us at the beach, and we had the hit stations on our car radios. Can you imagine life was wrapped in a song!
Teach Me Tonight - Jo Stafford
The song is great for her voice, Jo has a quality that seems her voice is reaching for the next lyric, longing for the next stanza, just super!
Dinah Washington / Since I Fell for You
she is just great!

Just pretty music, the flowers that are hiding in the grey day look brighter when the music makes your soul feel light.
Walter Jackson I Won't Remember Ever Loving You
Can't stop listening to his voice, and this is a great song too! Maybe he did not get enough play time, share time on YouTube?
Walter Jackson - Feelings
such a voice! We missed him, back in the 70's. What potential , and he never made it as big, as the many voices I hear within his voice. It just goes to show you, promoter, arranger, they have to be magic with you.
Moonlight in Vermont by Walter Jackson
Oh, what a surprise, what a great voice, such potential...!!! Imagine putting him with a super arranger! A great promoter!
Walter Jackson Funny (Not Much)
this voice has great potential, have you heard of him?

Yesterday, I had a frustrating morning. Everyone around me seemed to be in the same ditch. So, when I got in the car to go to the gym, and this song came on....the lushness of it calmed me down, and by the time I got to the end, the stress was leaving, chased out by a beautiful combination of voice, melody, and the magic of Sirius in my car channel 71, Sinatra

Berry Gordy Jr. Biography - life, family, parents, name, story, history, school, mother, information, born, movie, contract Growing up listening to this music, I thought what great music comes out of Motown, and now I know it was the musical genius and ear that turned the groups they worked with into stars!
Not that they did not have talent, don't misunderstand, remember I am just a regular music lover, but ...I could feel the talent, someone had to be directing it....and I loved, loved, loved Motown...
as I always say, we need another , "Wolfman," and we need a new comer that is the Motown of our age...Yeah!

The Four Aces - Tell Me Why (1951)
this had a hit on the flip side, Garden in the Rain. I love that best by Sarah Vaughn. I still have my collection of 45, and some 78's do you?
The Ink Spots- I don't want to set the world on fire.
We played this over and over on a 45 record....many still in my collection
Dells - Oh, What A Night (RARE 1969 clip)
This is a song that lives ....a good song to try...it reminds me of how important your record company is, and how they choose music. Are you in the right place? Barry Gordy had an ear for what was right for his artists!
Frankie Lymon - Goody Goody (Live)
This was a great version....of the song...probably the best...it fits his voice and the beat is right
Cheyenne graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School
Robert Palmer - Simply Irresistible
See the difference , and the response....this is better for his voice, the arrangement and even without the eye candy, it is good!
Robert Palmer LIVE - "Goody, Goody" - '92, stereo
I like Robert Palmer, but, this is not for him, wrong arrangment, voice is off....in my opinion
Tony Bennett - Old Devil Moon -
Here is Tony Bennett, when he is finding his voice, his beat....see the difference from the great Tony Bennett...practice other versions of each song....The Beatles said that they played so many gigs together in Germany, that it was practice practice practice, before they found their beat...
Connie Boswell - Blue Moon
. As a teacher, I would suggest, that this is a great song for all voices to practice with, listening to other artists arrangments , voices, beat, etc... from the first recording, to subsequent recordings, until you find yourself in the mix . Once you get your own beat, then move on to another song that has survived the years...with a mix of artists, do the same thing. There are some songs that call you to listen, note that this song calls you to listen to what comes next from the orchestra....
many of them are posted on my blog....I think, Stareyes, is another great one to practice with.

Blue Moon - original version from the movie Manhattan Melodrama

THE GREAT GATSBY - Official Trailer (2012) [HD]
Understanding the 1920's, from this trailer. What you see is a picture of the super rich, but there was a world of immigrants....New York City was teeming with immigrants, fresh off the boats, and anxious to become part of the fabric of America. Everyone wanted a chance to work and have the good life. They left opression, they left a world without opportunity for a world wide open to start a business, and prosper. The 1920's where really interesting. Everyone should know this story...it is telling in many ways. I will tell you more in another blog, soon.

Frank Sinatra & Tommy Dorsey - Imagination
Today a strange event. I was listening to Sirius in the car, Sinatra station 71...I thought it sounded like Sammy Davis, and I looked at the title in my car radio, surprised to see it was Sinatra with Tommy Dorsey, I forgot the song, but at the end he stretched to hit a high note....just listen to Sinatra fitting himself to the rhythm of Tommy Dorsey.. it is the Tommy Dorsey beat, sound etc...and he is fitting his voice to that...then listen to the Nelson Riddle years...everything changes...I think Frank is the best example of finding your own voice. He was great with Dorsey, but with Nelson Riddle, I don't think anyone can argue, it was RIGHT!

I don't know how to love him
Here is a school girl with the same song that the great artists are doing, uninfluenced on the emphasis, and her vocal quality is much better at the lower scale for the song....do you agree? But, then ...what do I know....I just think there is potential here.
Elaine Paige - I don't know how to love him
this is interesting, because of all the versions, hers is the least harsh....listen to the start...."I don't know how to LOVE him" her love is tempered it is not harsh, but i fyou listne to Hellen reddy and others, they emphasize the love and it is too shrill in the start.

When this movie came out over 30 years ago, it was shocking to some, and to some sacrilegious. I wondered why we could not appreciate it, for it did not change the story , it just presented it , in the future, as artists often depicted scenes of the crucifixion in the era in which they painted. The creativity and some of the music was spectacular. I did not like all the ties to modernity, but, I appreciated the film, and especially this song.
Dreams: wisdom, power, insight, magic, mystery, sincerity
Doors are opened into secrets through dreams and the magic of what happens as you near death, and life review. The Tibetan Rainbow Body & the Christian Resurrection
The Tibetan Rainbow Body & the Christian Resurrection I have written about this before in past blogging. I can't recommend it high enough on your learning curve. I gasped when I first read Father Tiso, because his studies are fantastic. I was always suspecting that light has / had something to do with our impressions of the world, I felt vindicated in my experience, as I read it and it motivated the chapter on the Resurrection in my book, Secrets of the Heart
