Los Indios Tabajaras - As Time Goes By
Signing off for now, with the lovely sound of the magic guitars
CONNIE FRANCIS: "You're Breaking My Heart" (1965)
I like to mention Connie Francis when I talk about Jerry Vale, she had the same quality in her voice. Longing for the next stanza, is what creates the mystery of success...
Jerry Vale - You're Breaking My Heart (1963)
Remembering the great Jerry Vale, his music once surrounded us in our daily acitivites
Jerry Vale - I have but one heart ('O marenariello)
A crooner for sure, and this was another major hit for Jerry Vale
Jerry Vale "I Hear a Rhapsody" 1968
Here it is, the song belonged to Jerry Vale...an achingly beautiful voice in this number
Sugaa Shack
Okay, someone new....I was looking for Sugar Shack, a great song of the past, and discovered this...worth listening to nice rhythm, good voices
Ella Mae Morse - The Blacksmith Blues (1952)
Shoo Shoo baby, was a great, but this was her biggest hit.. we loved to dance to it
♥♥ "I Hear a Rhapsody" ♫ Steve Lawrence
This might be nice to hear from our today star, Michael Buble...it fits his voice, I think. Steve Lawrence might not have had the hit. I am trying to think if it was Vaughn Munroe's song...
Nat King Cole Time Out For Tears
This is appropriate, when I think of what it was like during the war. Dinah Washington had the major hit for this song, so I will post it for you
Jo Stafford I'll Walk Alone
Listen to her voice, it just crys for the next stanza...she draws you to it....A major hit a song of longing from the 2nd World War...a time of tears, and sacrifice all over the world.
PATSY CLINE - You Belong To Me
Listen to the quality of her voice! She had great hits too as most of us know , but Jo Stafford won out on this song!
Jo Stafford - You Belong To Me
Its amazing that my record hasn't lost its grooves, this played over and over and over and over....Did you too play this over and over?
Madeleine Peyroux Dance me to the end of love
One of my favorites from the album I have. Please support the young artists and keep the old ones alive by purchasing their albums, and talking about their music. Collections are nice to have, the old originals that I have are in great shape, and always available to hear on my special new player, that takes 78, 45, and a cassette.
Madeleine Peyroux - Walkin' After Midnight
You know I love Madeleine Peyroux, listen to the back up music, it is wonderful... Studio band? Last night I heard a well known comedian on television remark that young struggling artists need to get on popular shows to beome known. How generous we were with that attitude. We need to continue to allow tryouts and spots on the popular night time shows for our young people to shine. I met Michael Buble because my grandson, gave me an album for Christmas, he said, " I know you will love this , Nan!" I did.... Remember Ed Sullivan, with Elvis, I remember, and when Elvis started moving his body, his legs, wow, ...ha ha ha. Elvis shot to stardom that night.
The Earls - Life Is But A Dream
We loved, loved this song, not sure who had the biggest hit,but think for us kids, we loved to jitter bug to this.
Richie Rosato Have You Heard
We rushed to Garino's music store to buy our 45's then went to the Wellworth next door for french fries and a frappe....no one got fat, because we were walking in those days. Lucky to have a car...
ONCE IN A WHILE - THE CHIMES.wmv
Once in Awhile started me up with music this morning, listening to Siriusly Sinatra, Mom sang and played this song all day when it was popular, and I think this was the version we young ones loved.
Billy Eckstine - I Apologize
Billy Eckstine had the best arrangment of this song, his voice ...all was perfect...that is why we love him so!
The Ink Spots To Each His Own
The songs of the times that our mother's played on the Victrola, as they sang and did housework, with their housedresses and aprons, in the days of victory gardens, collection of rubber, metal, and when they painted their legs with a seam, so it would look like they were wearing nylons. Was it nylons? or did nylons come later
Love Letters-Victor Young
we fell in love with the song, probably when we saw this movie and I think every mother in the world came home from this movie , humming this song, just as they sang To Each His Own, and other major hits.
Joni James - Love Letters Straight From Your Heart (With Lyrics)
Joni James was one of my favorite female singers. Hope you enjoyed her too....! The comments here, reminded me of the film, must go look for it.
Love Letters - Tom Jones and Jeff Beck
Tom Jones puts emotion into it, but, Nat King Cole still touches me best..
Elvis Presley - Love Letters
Here is another arrangement , and I loved Elvis, but the Nat King Cole arrangment, beat out Tom Jones and Elvis.
Nat King Cole Love Letters Lyrics by Slide Show
This was one of the songs of the last century, that should be on the list of greats and Nat King Cole had the best arrangement, as I recall.

Eminem - Lose Yourself (Instrumental)
who would have dreamed, that I would pick this, but it is great, and everyone whether you like Eminem or not, has to admit, he and Dr Dre have got it with this number. More more, How doing a mash up with this....?? its got a great back up sound...
Mama Cass Eliot - Dream a little dream of me
She too, had a velvet voice like Ella, the songs that were hits fit their voices. I know that you can change keys, but there is a place where you fit best, this is an example...of belonging to the song. Ella Fitzgerald for example could do no wrong in my eyes, she was just Wow!, but Volare was not HER SONG. I heard it the other day on Siriusly Sinatra, and she is good, but the song is not for her...get what I mean...? Listen to her best, then listen to Volare...why did she bother to record it....? But, then what do I know...??
Ella Fitzgerald - Dream A Little Dream Of Me
Was this my favorite version of the song, those many years ago? Sweet velvet voice....paired with Louis on the horn, wow, great... I also liked Mama Cass...
Michael Buble - Dream a Little Dream of Me
One of my favorites, great job by Michael Buble....get to know the oldies with our young singers...he's building a songbook of great songs, look for him for your collection
Ray Conniff - La Mer
One more world wide favorite songs....what makes the world wide songs great? Melody? Message? I think they are just great melodies, that stike a chord with all of us.
MARVIN GAYE -"WHAT'S GOING ON" FULL LP 36 min.(original motown detroit m...
Marvin we miss your great voice, style

ELLA MAE MORSE ~ SHOO SHOO BABY ~ 1943
The Andrew Sisters had a hugh hit with this, but I like Ella Mae Morse too, and she was not as well known to this audience, so enjoy her.
THE GYPSY - The Ink Spots
The Civic League held dances for teens, in the First National Parking lot, next to the Civic League building, on summer evenings. We would dance on the parking lot, with lights shining off the fence. Billy would walk Lorraine home after the dance. A very few of us had cars, and would go parking over at the park near the Dennison. When Framingham was young, and so was I.
♫ Theme from "Summer of '42" ♫ (The Summer Knows)

The Platters - The Great Pretender
Was he the first great pretender? Demara was his name and he fooled us all....
Tony Bennett - Cold cold heart - 1951.wmv
For those not accepting country, Tony Bennett made this a hit! We had great music whether main stream or country sneaking through...it was the best of times!
Hank Williams - Cold Cold Heart
Those of us who loved all genres of good music, welcomed this country song and it took off like a fire cracker. We sang and played it over and over.
hank williams - hey good lookin'
Maybe this is when country started to sneak into our music, back then. We hopped , jumped and swung around to this one. The word Teenager was coined and we were spinning into the future!
