True North, Kravets

Howard Kravets writes a war time adventure story . His account speaks of the horror of being the only one alive on a bomber, having to bail out and leave his buddies . The hero manages to live and fly again, only to be targeted and hit one more time, falling out of the sky and enduring escape. The hero lives to wreck his life as he fights his war time demons, that shake his reality at night while he recreates the horror of war in his dreams. Burying himself in an unfaithful affair he is caught between two worlds, his wife and family, or his paramour. The story is so true of the vets who came home wounded not only bodily, but mentally, with horrors they never would have had to endure if the war had not been put upon our shores.
Howard has done a magnificent job, on his first novel, it is a good read, and a great Christmas present for your father or grandfather , who might have fought in the 2nd world war. They keep their secrets in, so a book like this allows them to let it out, they were not alone.
