The Peacock War

We had a lovely group of peacocks, one female survived with two males.  The one odd male was lonely and often came to watch me swim in the morning.  He would caw and I would answer.  He was there everyday looking at me.

It came to a point where he started to appear on the bedroom balcony outside the sliding door, nightly and caw.  Howard was standing there when I answered him.  "No, no", he said," that will keep him coming to the bedroom balcony," and it did, he continued to visit the bedroom balcony for a few nights.

One night Howard had enough!  The cawing was loud and non stopping!  He is licensed to carry a rife, which he got and went to the window to shoot in the air.  When he pulled back the curtain, there was the peacock and a fox, with his mouth on the peacock's, leg trying to yank him down.  The peacock pecked the fox in the eye and Howard shot the gun in the air....It was like the road runner cartoon, feathers flew and legs went fast, as they departed the scene.

The next day, my loving peacock was removed from the farm , banished forever!
