This morning, as I read the Wall Street Journal, I was reminded of one of my favorite artists.
The subject painting was, "The Calling". Luke a money changer was called by Christ and Peter to a new life .
The shadows and light, the clothing of Peter and Christ, contrasting to the clothing of Luke and his companions,
all foreshadow, the reality of life, new, old, light , dark. Our eyes roam the painting seeing some faces in light, some in shadow.
This is what music also does, it soars and drops, it races and slows, it layers, and unlayers, it contrasts, and overlays.
All our endeavors match life as we know it.
Caraveggio, was a guy that got in a lot of trouble, so if you decide to view the movie, see it first without the "kids" .

The food was Italy, the minute you boarded ...

Tell It Like It Is- Aaron Neville

Creativity session leads me to the conclusion, that we all have to tell it like it is, and let our conscience be our guide. Attacks against each other that are twisted, and strained, lead us no where. Our leaders should do better than that, we all compete each day, lets do it right. Tell it like it is, treat each other respectfully! If you want to shine, make yourself an object of a shining soul.

Popeye The Sailor 045 - Organ Grinder's Swing.mp4

Popeye, persuaded us to eat our spinach as he gulped his out of a can, note the organ grinder and monkey. Super markets did not exist, local grocery stores, you could walk to, supplied the winter canned vegetables. My brother said, "YUKK!"

Organ-grinder's monkey

When we where young, after the 2nd world war, the organ grinder and monkey startled me on the street in my hometown, of Framingham, Mass., I had never seen anything like that monkey who begged with a tin cup as the organ grinder played , announcing the circus or the carnival was coming to town.

Horowitz plays Chopin Polonaise Op. 53 in A flat major

Chopin always seemed romantic to me, especially this song, which became the famous "Til the End of Time, by Perry Como and many others.
With the great melodies becoming popular songs, we all got to know the wonderful classics  in the long long years ago.
